$Page After Effect Export $TargetName After Effect Export *PLATFORM NOTE - limited Windows support* Although the example device works on Windows, this Live Set loads a video file in the Arrangement View. Live is not optimized for working with video files on Windows, so this Set only works on macOS. *Exporting notes to After Effects* This device gets note information from a clip and writes the start times and durations into a script file that After Effects can run to add that information into its timeline. Since Max for Live lets you access the notes in a clip, it is possible to write them to a text file in any format. After-Effects-Export.png Running the script in After Effects will generate a solid for every note pitch in use, with opacity changes that mirror that note's velocities. AE-lane.png This set contains the rendered result (with a Brush Strokes effect applied to it) in the Arrangement view. -> Opening a popup dialog from a user action in a device is generally considered bad practice since it might interrupt the workflow on stage. So we're making an exception to that in this device. -> Writing files to disk from Max is potentially hazardous, you might end up overwriting valuable user files. Use with caution! The clip contains the notes of Adagio in A from Toccata, Adagio and Fuge in C (BWV564) by Johann Sebastian Bach, as performed by $Link Aart Bergwerf . A version of this plugin was developed to support the audiovisual works of $Link Jaap Drupsteen .
