$Page MIDI-Echo $TargetName MIDI-Echo *Using the Keyboard* Tired of typing notes with your computer's keyboard? This little utility is for you. You can click and drag keys to generate notes. The velocity value is determined by the vertical position of the mouse within each key. Incoming notes are displayed in the keyboard and forwarded to the MIDI output of the device. Besides the Live UI elements, Max offers a large variety of very useful interface widgets that make it easy to jam within Max. This device uses such an object, [kslider], to generate notes that are then sent into the Live signal chain. Note-Player.png -> [kslider] only generates note ON messages. To make sure notes are also turned off, the patch uses [mousefilter] to wait for the mouse button to go up and then uses [flush] to turn off all playing notes. For some useful and fun interface objects that you will not find in Live, check out $Link [nslider] and $Link [rslider] , or even $Link [pictctrl] and $Link [swatch] .
