$Page Pitch Shifter $TargetName Pitch Shifter *Using the pitchshift~ object* Lowering the pitch of a sound normally also makes it play back slower, just like a vinyl record. Decoupling the pitch of a sound from its speed is not straightforward. ZTX developed algorithms for this, which Live uses to keep clips in sync and which are also bundled with Max. It is important to know that these objects introduce some latency in your signal. The reported latency should be communicated to Live, which can use this information to offset all other timing in Live, so that the sounds align. Pitch-Shifter.png -> For delay compensation in Live to work, it needs to be enabled. You can find the setting in Live's menu, under Options > Delay Compensation. -> To hear the difference between aligning and not aligning the delays, enable the Live metronome and compare what you hear when turning Align on and off. For changing the speed of a sample without changing its pitch, see the $Link Stretch Simpler example .
